Log in to CCH iFirm as the admin user

Video: Logging in to CCH iFirm as admin

To log in to your CCH iFirm site for the very first time you need the CCH iFirm URL, admin username and temporary password that we send you via email. The purpose of this login is for you to set yourself up with a general user account, which you can then use to set up other general user accounts, add contact records and much more.

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer, type your CCH iFirm URL in the address bar and press Enter.
  2. Type the admin name and temporary password.
  3. Select the Keep me logged in check box if you wish.
  4. Selecting the above means you do NOT have to re-enter your username and password when CCH iFirm automatically logs you out after 20 minutes of inactivity. This feature ensures no one can access your account if you leave your machine unattended for an extended period of time. 
  5. You should only select this option if you are logging in from a secure environment, for example you are logging in from your office computer.
  6. Click Login.
  7. If your firm is using 2-Step Verification, select your preferred option for receiving the authentication code.
  8. Read the terms and conditions and select the check box indicating that you accept the terms and conditions.
  9. Click Accept.
  10. Change the admin password as prompted.
  11. If your password does NOT meet the recommended security standards, you will be prompted to change it.
  12. You can change your password at any time.
  13. We recommend that your password meets the following requirements:
  14. Has at least eight characters
  15. Has at least one numeral (0-9)
  16. Has at least one capital letter (A – Z)
  17. Has at least one lower case letter (a - z)
  18. Has at least one symbol (!@#$%^&*-_=+|;:/>`~)

To log out off CCH iFirm securely, click Logout in the top menu.

You can reset the admin user account, so long as there is a valid email address associated to that account, using the forgotten password option on our login page.

If there is no email address associated to the admin user account, contact us and we will assign an email address to the account and you can then follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Forgot your password? link on the CCH iFirm login page.
  2. Type admin as the username.
  3. Click OK. A temporary password is sent to the email address that is associated with the admin account.
