Practice Manager Set up - Job Settings guide
When you are ready to set up your Practice Manager, we recommend you follow the steps in the exact order as outlined on this page. This will ensure that you have the correct data setup for each consequent step. Depending on how you choose to run your firm, you may not need to perform all these tasks.
Firm filtering and groups
If you have multiple offices and/or multiple divisions in your firm, you can set these up to group your clients and jobs into the relevant office and/or division. Many reports and screens allow you to filter for these firm groups, to better monitor and manage the performance of each office/division.

User accounts
Once you have set up your users in CCH iFirm you can assign the relevant Practice Management security roles to their user profile. The security roles that apply to the CCH iFirm Practice Management module are all optional. Whether or not you assign these roles depends on how you want to manage the Practice Management tasks in CCH iFirm.

Job settings
In order to create and manage jobs efficiently, there are a number of settings you can customize that will govern how jobs will behave in CCH iFirm. You will get some default settings that you can delete, edit or activate.

Timesheet codes and settings
If you require users to enter timesheets, you have to import or edit activity codes that will be used when recording timesheets in CCH iFirm. There are also some global settings that determine how timesheets will function in CCH iFirm.
Automated emails
There are many email alerts that you can enable in CCH iFirm to assist you with internal team communication and monitoring the status of your jobs, allocations and budgets. You may want to disable them at the start and then gradually enable them as you get more familiar with the system.
Import data
If you are using receivables in CCH iFirm, you can import your receivable balances.
